Mencongak tarikh mandat baru

Companies encouraged to hold voter registration drive for employees

Borneo Post
Posted on October 22, 2010, Friday

BINTULU: Private sector companies should follow the good example of Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd (BPSB) in organising a voter registration exercise for its employees.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth vice-chief Pandi Suhaili said this was one of the ways to facilitate registration of young voters.

“We (PBB Youth) hope that more private sector companies will follow the initiative taken by BPSB.

“We are prepared to assist by sending our members to be appointed as assistant registrar of voters to their office,” he said.

According to him, the level of awareness among young people who are eligible to be voters is low, and it requires the efforts of employers, whether in public or private sector, to rectify this.

Dato Ahmad clears the air regarding PBB Youth Wing vice-chief’s statement

Thursday, 02 September 2010 11:57

KUCHING: In response to the statement made by the vicechief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) Youth Wing, Pandi Suhaili which warned that Dato’ Ahmad Ibrahim had overstepped his boundaries as branch chairman when issuing a statement on behalf of PBB’s Youth Wing on 29 August at a function in Kpg Hj. Baki, Dato’ Ahmad yesterday issued a press statement to call for calm over the matter.

He stressed that the Youth Wing’s vice-chief may be over reacting to a statement that may have been misreported, misquoted or not reported accurately.

“He can check with RTM, they covered the event and have the actual recordings. I believe Pandi does not have any ill intent. He is just stating the obvious, that I am just the Ketua Cawangan of PBB N13 Batu Kawa. How can I make statements on behalf of PBB Youth Wing?”, asked Ahmad in his statement.

“Nevertheless, we in PBB are one family. To avoid misunderstandings, it would not have taken him much effort to counter check and consult with one another. However, among family members, misunderstandings do happen too and consultation yet again is the remedy. The cultural virtue of consultation is the very fabric that binds us together and the basis of PBB’s unity and strength all this while.

“Anyway, this is the Holy Month of Ramadhan, without any second thoughts, we forgive and let bygones be bygones. The state election is imminent, there are many pertinent issues and groundwork that needs our full focus and attention instead of picking petty fights with one another. “I won’t be part of that, let’s just move on to protect BN’s interest”.

KUCHING: More responses of solid support for Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud to retain his post as Chief Minister and continue being the leader to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) poured in yesterday from several PBB Youth branch chiefs.
