KUCHING: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s vision for the state is a winning formula and is good for the future of the state.

PBB Batu Lintang chief  Dato Idris Buang said it was just vital for the people to continue supporting the BN to ensure that the fate of the younger generations is secured.

Citing the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) as an example, he said it was a master stroke by Taib which would benefit many Sarawakians through an abundance of jobs and economic spin offs.

“What he had planned for Sarawak is an idea that will benefit generations to come. With a projected 2.5 million job opportunities by 2030, we will not solely rely on what we have today,” he said after receiving a courtesy call from the organising committee of the ‘1Malaysia with P195 & P196 Friends Movie Show’ at his residence here yesterday.

Idris added that since SCORE was initiated in 2003, it had attracted investments totalling RM31 billion, and foreign investors had started building their base in the state.

“Therefore, I would like to ask the people to think, what kind of opportunity does the opposition have to offer if they were given the chance to become the government?

“What sort of plans do they have in store for the people? Are they just going to build kindergartens, collect money to fund the party, and argue among themselves? This is what people, especially voters in the urban areas, should think carefully,”

He cautioned that all investments which the state managed to attract thus far could be in jeopardy if there were a change in government during the 13th general election.

Idris also reminded urban Chinese voters that the BN had a long and proven track record whereas the opposition had only been able to make statements all this while.

The Movie Show, which is set to become a major gathering for members of state BN component parties, is slated to be held on Aug 29. It would be a symbolic gathering for the launch of the state BN election machinery.

It would involve various PBB, SUPP, SPDP and PRS branches. Among those expected to attend the movie viewing are SPDP president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom and SUPP president Datuk Seri Peter Chin.

Among those present at Idris’s home yesterday were SUPP Youth chief Tan Kai and Wanita SPDP Pending chief Winnie Lim.
