“The future is very challenging and full of competition for innovation, requiring manpower with technical skills and techno-logical knowledge to increase productivity, efficiency and to prosper the people as well as to expand the volume of economy,” he said in his Christmas message.
The message was read by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang which was aired over RTM Sarawak last night.
He pointed out SCORE had attracted many multinational corporations to invest here and also generate many job opportunities of various levels of skills and proficiencies.
He also mentioned that many universities and institutions of higher learning were established to teach courses designed to meet Sarawak’s future manpower needs.
On another matter, Taib called on Sarawakians to strive together and move forward with dedication in support of Barisan Nasional (BN) in order to develop Sarawak in continued peace, stability, racial harmony, prosperity and progress.
“Our State Barisan Nasional government is fully committed to working together with the people in transforming the rakyat (people) towards achieving higher income economy by the year 2020,” said Taib, also state BN chairman.
Taib also said the Sarawak State BN government enjoyed very good relationship with Federal government, and he was thankful for its kind assistance to various religious organisations by giving financial aid to churches, chapels and other premises of worship.
