KUCHING: PBB vice-youth chief Pandi Suhaili said Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaludin should be more sensitive to the political landscape in Sarawak.
He criticised Khairy for looking down on the results accomplished by all who had worked hard to get the rakyat to support Barisan Nasional (BN) in the election.
“We not only got two-thirds majority but three-quarters majority with 55 seats won in the election.
“In fact, it is a thumping victory for the State BN,” he pointed out.
The vice-youth chief also pointed out that even BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak sang praises of the achievement.
He called on all parties to respect the mandate given by the rakyat to Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud by not demanding that he step down.
Pandi said it was up to Taib to decide on the matter without interference or pressure from third parties.
“The rakyat has given a mandate to the state BN chairman to continue leading the state. Thus it is wrong for any party to ask him to step down,” he said.
