BINTULU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) state youth vice-chief Pandi Suhaili has condemned Movement of Change Sarawak (MoCS) leader Francis Paul Siah for threatening to organise street demonstrations.

Siah had threatened to organise street demonstrations if Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud does not step down by Aug 13.

Yesterday, Pandi filed a police report against Siah along with Bintulu Anaq Vaie Association (PAVB) members. He called Siah’s threat subversive as it could incite the people.

“The Chief Minister has been given a fresh mandate by the people to form a government, continue leading the state government and the government in power has the right to appoint the Chief Minister.

“MoCS’ action is against the people’s aspirations. They have chosen the Barisan Nasional as the state government,” he told reporters after filing the report against Siah at the Bintulu police one-stop centre.

‘Group trying to bring in Umno is power crazy’

Posted on May 17, 2011, Tuesday

KUCHING: PBB vice Youth chief Pandi Suhaili describes those who attempt to bring Umno into Sarawak as power crazy.

He pointed out that this group of people was attempting to destablise politics in the state, hoping that when Umno comes in, they will stand to gain.

“If we are to look at the political scenario, there is no reason at all for Umno to come in…we are okay.

“However, regardless of this, we continue to hear claims by certain people who said they are trying to bring Umno into Sarawak because the state needs Umno.

“Does the state, which currently enjoys political stability, really need Umno or are they the ones who actually need Umno for their own self-interest?” asked Pandi when commenting on the statement made by the chief political secretary to the chief minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah last Saturday that certain parties wanted to paint a bad picture about Sarawak to draw attention to themselves.

BN win saved state from chaos — Pandi

Posted on May 7, 2011, Saturday

KUCHING: Sarawak should consider itself lucky that Barisan Nasional (BN) had managed to thwart Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) aggressive campaigns by retaining power after the just-concluded election.

PBB vice Youth chief Pandi Suhaili said this was because barely a month after the opposition group won some seats in the election, its leaders were already at loggerheads.

“Sarawakians should be grateful that BN managed to win the election because if the opposition did win, it is certain to be chaos in the state.

“They could not even agree on the shadow cabinet line-up and what more to say when they are the government,” said Pandi when contacted yesterday.

He said the opposition parties’ disagreement over the shadow cabinet lineup clearly confirmed his assertion in the past that they were actually only interested in obtaining power and not fight for the interest of the rakyat.

Jangan cuba wujud kumpulan penyokong Fadillah, Taib: Daud

Ketua Menteri terlalu tinggi.
