BINTULU: Sarawakians must reject the subversive politics of the opposition for they put fanaticism for power before national unity.

PBB Youth vice president Pandi Suhaili said a clear example of this was the tweet by former Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin which openly ridiculed the national flag.

“It was done purely on the basis of hatred for the Barisan Nasional which was elected by the people. They are trying to persuade the people to show the same attitude towards the Barisan Nasional.”

He said the bigotry displayed by the opposition meant they were willing to do anything to smear the mandate given by the people for the ruling BN.
“If Sarawakians are swayed by the opposition’s subversive politics, everyone will pay the cost.”

He believed the state would not be dragged through the mud by the opposition for it wanted to preserve its strong unity in order to further develop.

“Unity among the people is important because without unity all efforts to develop the state will not be implemented properly,” he said when commenting on Nizar’s tweet.

Nizar had tweeted on Monday: “Janji ditepati malang perayaan kemerdekaan tahun ini di buat oleh kabinet BN, luntur semangat nak kibarkan jalur gemilang, jalur malang! (Promises fulfilled unfortunately for the Merdeka celebration this year is organised by the BN cabinet, no mood to fly the Jalur Gemilang, unlucky stripes!”).
