Give full support to BN, people told

KAPIT: State Assemblyman for Semop who is also the Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Abdullah Saidol called on the people here not to gamble their future but to rally their full support behind the BN government.

“The 13th General Election (GE) could be held at anytime from now.Thus the people must be wise with their choice and to rally their full support behind the BN government to deliver all its candidates be elected into the parliament.

“The people must exercise their wisdom and be rational to vote for BN and don’t gamble their future as the government has proven its record to deliver the needs of the people under the leadership of our Chief Minister, Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak,” said Abdullah Saidol while officiating at the ‘Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidil-fitri’ gathering organised by the Youth Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and sponsored by the Youth Wing PBB Sarawak held at Community Hall at Kampung Baru here last Saturday evening.

He reminded the people to be rational and not emotional in their choice.

“The people must evaluate the most qualified candidate to be their elected representative.

Among the criteria of good elected representative is that he or she must be capable, dedicated and committed to discharge his or her responsibility.

“For Kapit parliamentary constituency, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi has met all the criteria to be a good people’s elected representative.His track record has proven that he’s capable, dedicated and committed to his responsibility.I have on several occasions attended the BN wakil rakyat closed door meeting in Kuching and Kuala Lumpur,” Abdullah said.

“He (Alexander) spoke out clear and loud to the government and ministers that he represented Kapit and raised many issues concerning the social-welfare, socialeconomic wellbeing of the people in particular the need to speed up or expedite more infrastructure development in Kapit to enhance the quality of living.

“He’s a good leader and we must therefore give him the full support to vote for him in the coming general election,”said Abdullah Saidol to the loud applause from the floor.

Abdullah explained that when BN announced its candidate, he or she is to represent BN to defend the seat and not representing the BN component party of either PBB, PRS, SPDP or SUPP but BN candidate.

“Towards achieving our objective BN need to mobilise the entire machinery to ensure the victory, that was the spirit of BN team spirit as a united front to fight the opposition,” stressed Abdullah.

He pointed out that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak had introduced four vocabularies namely ‘walk-about’, ‘outreach’ (turun-padang), ‘touchpoint’ and ‘impact’.

“Un d e r Na j i b’s a d v o c a - tion of ‘1Malaysia, People First, Achievement Now’, many ‘peoplefriendly’ policies were implemented to help the people such as ‘the households aid (BRIM) of RM500’, e-kasih, housing aid and many others.We have such a good government and thus the people must reciprocate to ensure after the next general election BN still rules and Najib is still our Prime Minister,” he said.

On 1Malaysia spirit, Abdullah said the fundamental unity and harmony among the great diversity of Malaysian is our strength.

“Let us preserve and uphold it as a way of life.The unity, harmony and willing to work together is vital to ensure the country to focus on economic and social development to gear towards the developed nation status by 2020.

In Sarawak, Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud advocates ‘politics of development’.

“We are all undergoing the second wave of politics of development.

Let us rally our undivided support behind the state government to achieve the high income society through economic development,” he pointed out.

At the function, he announced a grant of RM10,000 for the Hari Raya Qurban/Aidil Adha activity.

Of the amount each of the Malay villages namely Kampung Baru, Kampung Muhibbah Bletih and Kampung Bletih II received RM3,000 and another RM1,000 for the KEMAS Kindergarten.

Also spoke at the function were the organising chairman, Zulaini Junaidi who is the youth chief Youth Wing PBB Kampung Baru and the chairman of the Economic Bureau of State PBB Youth Wing, Pandi Suhaili.

Present at the function were the Deputy Youth Wing Chief of PBB Sarawak, Daniel Jubang who is the political secretary to the Chief Minister of Sarawak, political secretaries to the Chief Minister namely Tengku Geruna and Wilson Nyabong, committee members of Youth Wing PBB Sarawak including Radin Kaderi Radin Budiman, Jefferson Jamit, and Petter George Segie.

Also present were Deputy Resident Kapit (Social), Mohd Ikhmal Abdullah, Kapit Police Chief , DSP Entusa Imam, JASA officer, Mohd Matan Yok, Pemanca Badi Nuawi, Ketua Kampung Sepawi Bujang, chai rman of SADIA Kapit, Edward Manggah and some five hundred members of the Muslim community and invited guests.
